SHAVER LAKE, Fresno County — October 27, 2026. Boaters and anglers preparing a late-October visit to Shaver Lake should distinguish a no-fee public launch from unrestricted year-round access. Fresno County’s public parks webpage identifies the Shaver Lake Launch Ramp and Sierra Marina as the principal boat-launch area on the north shore, with no county fees for using the ramp or parking facilities.
The published seasonal schedule
The county lists the launch area as open seven days a week, 7 a.m.–7 p.m., from April through October. That published schedule should not be extended into November without a more recent operating notice. The county also says it leases the property from Southern California Edison and does not directly control access to the ramp or parking area.
Where to go
The official address is 45795 Tollhouse Road, Shaver Lake, CA 93664. Drivers approaching from Fresno typically travel east on State Route 168. The parking area accommodates vehicles and boat trailers, and pedestrians may also use the site for shoreline fishing access, subject to posted restrictions.
What to check before leaving home
Water levels, weather, facility staffing and operational changes can affect launch access. Confirm boat and trailer requirements, ramp conditions, the latest access status and marina services before towing a boat into the Sierra foothills. The county lists Sierra Marina, 559-841-3324, for inquiries.
Neither free ramp use nor a published spring-to-autumn schedule guarantees that boats can launch on every day in the listed period, or that gas, rentals and services are included at no cost.
